♡ Review // Foundations x Winter Edition
hello cuties ♡♡♡
Hope you guys are doing a m a z i n g ♡ So the other day as in 2 weeks ago I bought foundations to try out for the winter so I ended up going with the following 3 foundations;
a) Smashbox Liquid Halo HD in the shade "5"
b) MAC Studio Waterweight in the shade "NC35"
c) Laura Mercier Silk Creme Mositurzing Photo Edition in the shade "Sand Beige"
Basically, I have combination skin so in the winters it gets dry but still have that oily t-zone so I need a good hydrating foundation that keeps me hydrated but doesn't get me oily either. So I had asked the lady at Sephora & MAC to help me out so I ended up getting the 3 mentioned above. Lets get into this review & hope you guys enjoy!

For the first one, let's start with the "MAC Studio Waterweight in NC35". They were out of NC30 so I went with NC35 kind of darker but it worked with a lighter powder on top. Okay so this is a very lightweight foundation as mentioned in the name itself it has very very light coverage and is perfect for a no-makeup makeup look. It has a very liquidy almost water like consistency with barely any coverage. However, it is pretty hydrating on the skin and looks/feels like skin too. This foundation is more of a non-matte foundation and gives you a healthy looking sheer glow. Since it has a pretty sheer coverage, this is perfect for everyday and isn't cakey what so ever. I think this is amazing for dry/combo skin since it keeps you hydrated yet controls the oils as well. I don't think it will work with oily skin due to the type of formula this is. Another thing, this foundation has no pump but instead has this dropper.. which was kind of unique lol!! It is like one of those medicine dropper type of pumps so you can get an exact amount even though I'd still prefer a pump. When it comes to the lasting power, this will last all day if used correctly with a proper primer and setting spray. Overall, this is a pretty good day to day sheer foundation which keeps you hydrated as well as evens out your skin tone.

Next, lets get onto the "Laura Mercier Silk Creme Moisturizing Photo Edition Foundation". I had just seen this and I don't know why it sounded so appealing so I had to get it! So this on the other hand, is a full coverage foundation which I have to say is A M A Z I N G for photography or any special events! This gives you such a flawless finish and is very hydrating. You have to be careful though.. at first I tried this foundation with a buffing brush and I looked really cakey so I was like "what is this foundation -_-" but then I tried this with my beauty blender and voilaaa! It blended seamlessly! The consistency of this foundation is in-between creamy and liquidy so its not too thick and not too liquidy either.. kind of hard to explain lol! A little goes on a long way so you should start with one drop first then build your way up if you need to. Also, the lasting power of this foundations is perrrrfect! This lasts alll day again with using a primer & setting spray. I can blend powders and creams on this with no problems and this gives you more a hyrdating dewy finish opposed to a matte or glowy finish. Overall, I love this foundation especially for events since it makes you look flawless yet such a dewy hydrating finish! Loveee this for the winter time & I think this is perfect for dry skin! Check it ouuut loves!

And last but not least, the Smashbox Liquid Halo HD Foundation in "5". Okay so I have never tried anything from Smashbox before so this was a first. This is more of a light - medium coverage and gives you more of a glowy luminous finish. So this is a liquid foundation and this is one of those foundation where you can get a real sheer coverage but if you add more you will get medium coverage so this is a buildable foundation. I don't know why but I do not like this foundation loll! I did wear this for a whole day but not sure what it was like either the finish or I don't know I did not like this foundation. Maybe the colour was wrong or I don't know it wasn't as hydrating as I thought it would be either. It gave you more of a patchy look no clue why.. but yeah. Overall, did not like it since it clearly didn't suit my skin with the overall finish it gave & wasn't really hydrating.

aaand that's pretty much it for todays review...
...till next time , XO.
